Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer feel the heat at Warm Bodies premiere

The two stars and two-time Academy nominee John Malkovich took to the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of romcom zombie film Warm Bodies.

The new romantic comedy gives zombie movies a new twist. The movie also surprisingly stars two-time Academy nominee John Malkovich.

Although Malkovich admits he isn't a fan of the zombie genre, he believes horror fans will enjoy it.

"In this there's quite of bit of play I think with the zombie genre, and quite a bit of movement in the characters which you wouldn't normally see," explained Malkovich.

The movie stars Nicholas Hoult as the main zombie who begins to fall in love.

He said: "It's about a zombie called R, my character, who has no memory of his living life but realizes there was something more to being human and wants to connect.

“One day captures Teresa Palmer's character Julie, and decides instead of eating her brains he is going to look after her and it kind of goes from there. It's kind of a romantic comedy with a zombie twist."

Director Jonathan Levine said he thought of the movie as regular men and women falling in love, rather than a zombie and a human. He remembered his past when he was in high school and felt like a zombie anytime he attempted to speak to a pretty girl. He could hardly get any words out.

Bombshell Teresa Palmer admits coming across a few guys who seemed like zombies when they spoke to her.

"Talking to boys, yes I was definitely, yes I've met a few zombies in my time that's for sure," said Palmer. "I've definitely dated a few.

“I think it's really interesting. The relationship between R and Julie in this film is very representative of how it feels when you first meet someone and you're falling in love, and it's quite awkward and no one really knows what to do or what to say.

“I think people are going to be able to connect to that."

  • Warm Bodies opens in the UK on February 8.
