Actress Jaimie Alexander is making a name for herself as an action star.
The 28-year-old starred in the hit movie Thor and is returning for the upcoming sequel along with co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman.
Before that though, she stars in the action flick The Last Stand, opposite the iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Directed by Kim Jee-woon and written by Jeffrey Nachmanoff and Andrew Knauer, The Last Stand also stars Forest Whitaker and Johnny Knoxville.
In the film Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) has resigned himself to a life of little action in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that quiet existence is blown to smithereens when Gabriel Cortez, the most infamous of drug czars in the western hemisphere, makes a break for freedom.
"I play officer Sarah Torrance, and so I'm kind of one of Arnold's deputies and we kind of have a father, daughter type of relationship," explained Alexander on a recent promotional tour for the film.
"We're like a family of misfits really that care an awful lot about each other, they've known each other for a long time. And she's the woman that's like literally like, when he's like 'ok who's with me?' She's like I am, right away, doesn't even think about it."
The Last Stand is Schwarzenegger's first starring role since Terminator 3 almost a decade ago.
And Alexander says the 65-year-old action icon has still got what it takes.
"It was great working with him, super-hard work ethic. Just an amazing man, very funny, very polite, never complained, just pulled some crazy long hours," said Alexander.
"There is a day he split his head open at work, went to get stitches and came right back to work. And I was like, are you nuts and then I was like, oh yeah, you're the Terminator."
- The Last Stand was released in the UK yesterday.
