Dakota Fanning has little in common with her 'Runaways' character Cherie Currie.
The teen actress - who performs alongside Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett in the movie - admits she does not have any desire to be a rock star, although she does enjoy singing into a hairbrush.
She said: "Yes, I used to sing into my hairbrush, didn't we all? But I've never ever sung like this before. I took some voice lessons and recorded in a studio for the first time. It was really wild.
"I'll never be a rock star, that's for sure. But Cherie was so in the public eye when she grew up and, although it was in a very different way to how I've grown up, of course I can identify."
Dakota also jokes she got on so well with Kristen in 'The Runaways' - a biopic about the Los Angeles rockers of the same name - and consequently on 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' where she played vampire Jane, they are refusing to work without each other.
She told the Metro newspaper: "We're only doing movies together from now on. It's in our contract."
