Does new stunt bike hero Martyn Ashton match up to Danny MacAskill?

Martyn Ashton’s Road Bike Party video on YouTube has notched up almost over three quarters of a million plays just a day after posting.

Its success makes it a serious competitor to Danny MacAskill famous viral video, which you can see above.

The YouTube description for Ashton’s video states: “Martyn Ashton takes the £10k carbon road bike used by Team Sky's Bradley Wiggins & Mark Cavendish for a ride with a difference.

“With a plan to push the limits of road biking as far as his lycra legs would dare, Martyn looked to get his ultimate ride out of the awesome Pinarello Dogma 2. This bike won the 2012 Tour de France – surely it deserves a Road Bike Party!

“Shot in various locations around the UK and featuring music from Sound of Guns. Road Bike Party captures some of the toughest stunts ever pulled on a carbon road bike.”

He still has a while to go to get as many views as Scottish cyclist MacAskill, who has enjoyed great success since the release of his first viral video three years ago.

The 26-year-old is regarded as one of the most groundbreaking athletes not just in Scotland, but in the world.

The clip has been viewed 30 million times and taken the Skye man around the globe. MacAskill was recently nominated as Adventurer of the Year 2012 by National Geographic.
