Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays vengeful vampire Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, has paid a huge compliment to her predecessor Rachelle Lefevre, saying that she did an “exquisite job” in the role.
Rachelle – who has recently been signed up to ABC’s forthcoming TV show, Off the Map - was replaced by Bryce in the third movie in the series, with rumours circulating that she had fallen out with bosses at Summit Entertainment, which produce the films.
And Bryce, who took on the role of the wicked character, said that she was honoured to replace the Canadian actress who she said “made a very strong impact” on audiences.
“I just feel really, really grateful that I’ve been really embraced by the cast and I just want to do my best. Honestly what it feels like to me, starting out as a fan and now being a part of it, I feel a huge responsibility to do my best.” Bryce said.
“Also because this character was created by Rachelle and she was beautiful, she is beautiful, and powerful, and just such did such an exquisite job, so I want to honour the very strong impact that she made on audiences through this character," she added.
The third movie sees Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, in grave danger once again as Victoria sets up an army of vampires to hunt her down, in her quest for revenge.
Explaining a bit more about the storyline, Kristen said: “The werewolves and vampires team up in this one. Oddly enough it’s the good vampires and the werewolves who team up against the bad vampires, because they’re trying to kill Bella. Victoria is scorned and feels like she needs to inflict on Edward and Bella what she had to go through in Twilight, so she’s back.”
Taylor Lautner, who plays the role of werewolf Jacob Black, added: “Bella is the reason that Victoria’s mate James was killed in the first movie and now Victoria is looking for revenge and she’s going straight after Bella and it is Edward and Jacob’s job to team up and protect her.”
