Pic: Seminal work: Jennifer's new film is about a sperm donor pregnancy.
Jennifer Aniston has made no secret of the fact she’d love a family life – with children. But despite rumours about romance with The Bounty Hunter co-star Gerard Butler, she seems no closer her goal.
She told the Daily Mirror: “I’ve had some wonderful experiences. I hope I’ve reached a point where I’m ready to enjoy being with a great man and having a family together. That’s always been my dream.”
Lonely Jen – who was married to uber-dad Brad Pitt – may find the subject of her next film will touch a raw nerve.
Due for release later this year, The Switch used to be known as The Baster and in it the former-Friend stars as a women who uses donor sperm insemination to become pregnant.
Statistics released this week show that one in eight couples suffer fertility problems, yet Scotland only has 26 sperm donors.
A private clinic has launched a new campaign to encourage Scotsmen to come forward and become donors.
Their enticement – apart from up to £250 in expenses – is a free bowl of porridge.
Appealing to national pride, Edinburgh-based IVF Scotland have produced posters with slogans like “your country needs you” and “rise up and be a nation again”.
They hatched their breakfast offer because the centre is near the Sheriffhall park and ride near Edinburgh. IVF Scotland's communications manager Victoria Brewster said: "We thought we might get commuters to come in on their way to work. That's where the porridge idea came from."
She explained that the whole idea was about making it clear that, although children concieved through donations can contact their biological parents, they are rarely looking for a father.
She added: "Donors don't end up with a queue of teenagers on the doorstep looking for father. Certainly some people want to understand their biological background, but that's it. There is no legal obligation. We want people in Scotland to think about sperm donation in more favourable terms."
Jennifer, recently pictured cuddling up to hunky Scot Gerard, researched the subject before filming The Switch.
An insider on the set said: “Jen’s research helped convince her that this would be a good path in her own life.”
And while she still harbours a dream of finding a man and clearly has a taste for things Scottish, Jen may find herself turning to the baster.
She hinted as much in an interview last year when she said: “I’m ready for anything. Bring it on. I wouldn’t rule anything out, but it wouldn’t be a first choice.”
