Green man: Gerry's going to play a sweary little chap.

Gerard Butler is to play a "perverse leprechaun" in an upcoming movie. The Bounty Hunter star, who is currently working on Shakespeare adaptation Coriolanus admits an upcoming - but as yet untitled - movie with Naomi Watts, Kate Winslet, Seann William Scott and Elizabeth Banks will feature a lot of swearing.

He said: "I play the most perverse, disturbing, disgusting, foul-mouthed leprechaun you could ever imagine.

"I've been kidnapped by Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott so they can get their pot of gold.

"They don't quite realise what they've bargained for. They land themselves in a bit of trouble."

The problem of the 6ft 1in actor playing a leprechaun has also been negated, as special technology is being used to superimpose his face onto another person's body.

He told MTV News: "It's funny because we're using that technology from 'Benjamin Button' - what's the politically correct term? A little person? - and they're going to put my head onto a little person. It's very funny. It's insane."

The project is being led by Shallow Hal director Peter Farrelly and is expected to be released this year.
