Gabourey Sidibe hoping for comedy role

Gabourey Sidibe wants a comedy role.

The 'Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire' star, who lost out in the Best Actress category at this year's Oscars to Sandra Bullock, doesn't want to be known for serious movies alone - and will even stop acting until she lands the part she wants.

She is quoted by gossip website Absolute Now as saying: "I've done a serious role and now I want to be funny.

"So I'm still holding on to my job just in case it doesn't work out. I work for the Fresh Air Fund and we send kids to camp. I love it but we'll have to see what happens."

The 26-year-old star also claims she wants to date Gerard Butler, saying the Scottish actor is "sexy".

She said: "I bumped into him yesterday. I feel like I stepped on his foot. He's kinda sexy. I'd hit that."

Overhearing her on the red carpet at the awards, 40-year-old Gerard confirmed his single status and joked: "I'm here, I'm available," to which she responded. "Let's grab a bottle of champagne and see where the night goes!"
