Rpat: the new Spider-Man?
Robert Pattinson has admitted that he’d like to be the new Spider-Man – but has said he doesn’t think that he’ll be taking on the role.
The Twilight actor, who has hit the headlines recently over his rumoured on-off relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart, has been rumoured to be getting lined-up for the part for some time now, after former lead Tobey Maguire decided not to return.
The role in the fourth movie in the series would be a bit of a change for Pattinson, who is used to playing vampire Edward Cullen.
But he told the Daily Record: "I don't think I'm going to be playing Spider-Man, even though I would quite like to do it."
Rpat was linked to the role of Spider-Man after Tobey Maguire announced his shock decision not to return for the latest instalment. Director Sam Raimi also chose to pull out of filming.
However it seems that he might have some competition if he does decide to go for the part - other stars who have been rumoured to be in the running include High School Musical’s Zac Efron, who is hot property in the movie business just now, and Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief star Logan Lerman.
