Nicholas Hoult think his character in 'A Single Man' is sexually ambiguous.
The British actor stars alongside Colin Firth in the drama about a gay college professor, George, coming to terms with the death of his long term partner.
Nicholas plays one of his students, Kenny, who has a tender relationship with George.
Nicholas, 20, said: "Kenny's sexuality is debatable. He has an intellectual connection with George. I won't even say if I think he's gay or straight, because I don't even know if he knows."
Nicholas had to strip for his role in the movie, but insists he was comfortable being naked - until the cameras stopped rolling.
He said: "I had a lot of fake tan, so it felt like an extra layer on. The awkward bit is when they say, 'cut', because before, you are in character but then you're left naked in front of someone you don't know - or Colin Firth - and it gets a bit weird because it's like, 'This wouldn't happen normally.'
