Nicholas Hoult didn't know who Tom Ford was.
The 19-year-old actor - who plays the role of Kenny in the new Tom Ford movie 'A Single Man' - was unsure as to who the fashion designer was when he was first offered the role.
He revealed: "I looked on film website IMDB.com, but that only has film work and it just came up with 'Zoolander', and I was like, 'Zoolander', as yourself? Big leap to director isn't it?'
"Then I Googled him and saw him with Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson, and read about everything that he'd done with Gucci, and his empire in America and it dawned on me that he was kind of a big deal."
The star, who began his career in Hugh Grant movie 'About a Boy', also admitted that he didn't mind playing a sexually ambiguous character in the movie.
He told Britain's Marie Claire: "Kenny's sexuality is debatable. He has an intellectual connection with Colin Firth's character George. I won't even say if I think he's gay or straight because I don't even know if he knows."
