Hats off to Robert Pattinson. The Twilight star has dusted off his recent heartbreak and has been doing the promo rounds for new movie Cosmopolis.
But it seems avoiding questions about his relationship with Kristen Stewart, following allegations that she cheated on him with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, could finally have taken their toll on notoriously private Rob.
During his interview on Good Morning America, host George Stephanopoulos handed the Brit boy a box of his favourite Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal before addressing the ‘elephant in the room’.
The presenter said: “Everybody just wants to know... how are you doing? What do you want your fans to know about what's going on in your personal life?”
Robert looked extremely uncomfortable and said: “[My fans] seem pretty excited about ... kind of whatever.”
He then looked around for something to detract from the clearly still raw line of questioning and grabbed hold of the cereal box and said: “Um, I'd like my fans to know that Cinnamon Toast Crunch is just 130 calories [a serving].”
He then said: “Pretty much everything that comes out of my mouth is irrelevant.”
Although Robert knew questions about the state of his romance with Twilight co-star Kristen would be inevitable, he insisted he is purely back at work to promote his movie, not pour his heart out about his girlfriend’s alleged affair.
The handsome actor said: “You go into it to do movies. I'm never been interested in trying to sell my personal life. The reason why you go onto TV is to promote movies.”
This week, Rob has appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Showbiz Tonight. Next on his list is a half hour interview with MTV.
All eyes are set to be on the red carpet at the MTV VMAs next month, where both Rob and Kristen are believed to have been invited to the glittering bash.
