Scottish actor Gerard Butler has been voted the best British actor in Hollywood, in a poll of more than 1,000 movie buffs.
The vote, which was organised by the online DVD and games rental service Lovefilm, saw Paisley-born actor Butler beat fellow actors including Daniel Day-Lewis and Christian Bale to receive the prestigious title.
The honour comes just days after the star came back to Glasgow for the movie premiere of his new film, Law Abiding Citizen. Check out his interview with STV here.
Gerard wasn’t the only Scot to be recognised in the poll, with James McAvoy getting voted fifth, with eight per cent of the vote, and Ewan McGregor came ninth.
And hugely popular Twilight star Robert Pattinson, who has shot to massive fame following the hit vampire movies, came seventh in the poll.
Helen Cowley, the editor at Lovefilm said the poll proves that film fans seem to still favour the slightly more mature actor, despite the huge surge in teen flicks such as Twilight. She said: "The poll shows that Butler and Bale have got some real bite in Hollywood.
"And even though Robert Pattinson is getting some deserved attention, it's the older generation of actors that still have sway in Hollywood."
