Scottish Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor has revealed that he feasted on goat testicles while travelling the globe with Charley Boorman.
McGregor was on The Tonight Show in the US, talking to host Conan O'Brien to promote new movie The Men Who Stare At Goats - though it turns out he had the balls to do more than just admire the woolly creatures when he was trekking around Mongolia.
He said: "I travelled the length of Africa and we ate a couple of goats because that’s the staple food there.
"In Mongolia, when I was travelling through Mongolia, I ate a very small goats' testicles.”
O’Brien look surprised, and asked: “Was it part of a dare?”
However, McGregor replied: “Not like off it... No, no, no, they were in a stew, which makes it okay!”
To make clear he wasn’t talking a load of old bollocks, McGregor added: "We were welcomed in, and the mother of the family was cooking something in this big pot.
“And we were chatting away and showing pictures of where we’d come on our motorcycles, and then we looked over and she was ladling out just balls... just lots and lots of balls.
"All of us, we all kind of looked at each and went: 'Eurggh... oh no.' And we had to eat them."
You might think the goats McGregor worked with on his new movie might be peeved, but the actor hailed them as “some of the best goats that I ever worked with”.
He joked: “They can be a bit tricky, goats, sometimes. They can be difficult, they don’t come out of their trailer, there’s always a reason why you’re not giving them what they need. I mean in an acting sort of fashion...”
