Big Brother 7 winner Pete Bennett has been out of the limelight for a few months but he’s back with a bang this month, performing in a one-man show at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Pete Bennett’s Tourette’s and Stuff is currently on at the city’s Cabaret Voltaire, and sees the 29-year-old make his stand-up debut, using comedy, music and puppetry, to tell his life story as perhaps the UK’s most famous Tourette’s sufferer.

“It’s just me on stage going mental, but I’m trying to tell the stories about life, Tourette’s, what it’s like having as a young boy and afterwards an you know," he explained.

“I’m just showing people what it’s like to have Tourette’s, all the energy and stuff – and what we’re like in bed!”

Pete continued: “I do say in the show I find Tourette’s funny to have, and how all the other illness aren’t really funny, but everytime I speak to someone and twitch they just piss themselves – so I’ve found it is quite a funny illness to have.” He added: “It’s better to laugh at yourself in these situations than be all depressed.”

While in Edinburgh, Pete has made sure to catch a couple of shows at the world famous Edinburgh Fringe, including former X Factor star Lucie Jones’s role in The Prodigals, Tom Green in the World Comedy Tour and Jackass star Steve-O's stand-up routines.

Despite loving the vibe of the festival, one thing the author, TV star, media personality and singer admitted he’s fed up of  the notoriously rainy Scottish weather.

But it’s not enough to keep him away and Pete is already planning a big comeback at next year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

“I’m telling stories just now about my life but I think I’ll come back next year with a new side to me, a more surreal side to me. I want to keep learning, I want to broaden my horizons, this is just the beginning I think.”
