It’s the interview the world has been waiting for, as "old, saggy cloth cat” children’s favourite Bagpuss poses some tough questions for Britain’s Got Talent cruise-ship entertainer Kevin Cruise.
Both are performing at the Edinburgh Fringe this year for the first time, so had plenty to compare during the wide-ranging interview. (We also talked to Bagpuss and puppeteer Lynsey Bourne earlier in the day.)
Bagpuss pulled no punches with “Mr C”, and said: “I can’t help but note that you look a little orange.”
Kevin responded: “Ah, well I think it’s quite a nice look! Well, it’s all the time on my cruise ship, that’s the thing – you’ve got a nice pink glow, and I’ve got a nice orange glow.”
Bagpuss then explained: “Not a lot of people know this but I was supposed to be orange! But there was a mistake and I came out pink.”
Bagpuss is performing for the first time on stage and is this year at the Fringe for a midday show, while Kevin, who appeared on BGT in 2010 and got on the wrong side of Simon Cowell, is on later in the afternoon.
During the rest of the interview Kevin offered to take Bagpuss out for a night out on the town, a bit of cider, and even a free trip on the Fishy Rose.
