Dolly Parton talked live to STV's the five thirty show via satellite from Nashville on Monday 23rd of March. Talking to presenters Rachel McTavish and Stephen Jardine, Dolly talked about how things are progressing for the launch of the Broadway show, 9 to 5 on April 30; her plans for Dollywood and all about the new dvd release of her concert at Glasgow's SECC.
As one of the biggest names in showbiz, Dolly Parton, is the most successful female country singer ever with 25 number one hits to her name and is a winner of no less than seven grammy awards.
Dolly rose to fame in 1967, when she was asked to join the country music TV program The Porter Wagoner Show, hosted by Porter Wagoner, The duo's first single, The Last Thing on My Mind, reached the country Top Ten early in 1968, launching a six-year streak of virtually uninterrupted Top Ten singles.
Last year, her sold-out tour took her around Europe, including a packed concert at Glasgow's SECC. It was a sell-out gig and enthralled her fans, proving that she still's very much got what it takes!
