The final two contestants in the Dancing on Ice final were Ray Quinn and Donal MacIntyre.  Both celebrities had to skate the classic Torvill and Dean Bolero routine with their pro-skating partners.

Torvill and Dean famously skated their Bolero programme at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics 25 years ago.  They received a perfect score from the judges on that day, so the pressure was on for both of the final couples to deliver the performance of a lifetime.

Donal MacIntyre pro-skating partner Florentine Houdiniere wore purple outfits - just as Jayne and Chris had done in 1984 - to perform their routine.

The pair added some of their own moves into the classic routine, including a swan spiral lift.

Following the performance, Donal confessed that he had become lost in the dance whilst skating the programme.

Florentine added that it had been a joy to skate with Donal in the Dancing on Ice final.

Head Judge Robin Cousins told Donal that his journey had come full circle and that he was “controlled” and “precise” during his Bolero performance.  He did, however, add that MacIntyre didn’t quite have the passion, but did have focus.
