The latest trailer for the new Batman movie has spread like wildfire over the internet – and showcases an amazing sequence filmed in Scotland.
Dark Knight Rises is the third part of director Christopher Nolan’s trilogy and stars Christian Bale as Batman alongside other series regulars Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman.
It also features Tom Hardy as villain Bane, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt – the latter being given far more screen time in various trailers, hinting at a significant role for the actor.
The movie came to Scotland last year to shoot a spectacular aerial stunt which is shown at the start of the trailer, as Bane shows off the extent of his powers to stunning effect.
STV’s Michael MacLennan said of the last trailer for the film: “The trailer shows a truly epic scope for what will almost undoubtedly be the biggest movie of the year.”
He added of the prologue, which features the Scottish aerial sequence: “It’s a stunning and quite unexpected advert for Scotland’s amazing landscape, as well as a brilliant piece of cinema in its own right.”
Dark Knight Rises is released on July 20.
