The Proclaimers and director Matt Lucas have revealed some hilarious details about the video for Spinning Around In The Air.
The video is a satire on a Golden Wedding party set in the bungalow. It will be unveiled on April 30 coinciding with the UK release of the single which will then be available at iTunes.
Fans might be a bit surprised by their look, though – as the Reid brothers have apparently been made by the director to dress up in ladies clothes…
The brothers have said of the requirement imposed by The Little Britain star: “Matt said it was going to be liberating, and I think liberating is an understatement.”
Matt is making his directorial debut for Spinning Around In The Air and he joked about it to Real Radio: “It’s my first, it might be my last as well.
“I had an idea to do this 50th anniversary party, and shoot it as though it’s shot on home video; and there’s a punch going around this party that gets all these respectful senior citizens disgracefully drunk and uninhibited.”
Of the brothers’ costumes, Matt added: “They could turn a man. They’ve turned me straight.
“I think it’s the start of something new, a new chapter in the lives of one of Britain’s top female duos!”
The Proclaimers last month announced the release of new album Like Comedy in May – with Scottish shows also announced for an October and November tour. (Find out all the details here.)
